Lightworks v14 on Ubuntu 17.04
Lightworks 14 fails due to ‘too new’ portaudio libraries.
Solution: use libraries from 16.10
Source: Lightworks Forums
Installing previous version libraries:
[[ ! -d ~/tmp ]] && mkdir ~/tmp cd ~/tmp wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/p/portaudio19/libportaudio2_19+svn20140130-1.1_amd64.deb wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/p/portaudio19/libportaudiocpp0_19+svn20140130-1.1_amd64.deb dpkg-deb -x libportaudio2_19+svn20140130-1.1_amd64.deb . dpkg-deb -x libportaudiocpp0_19+svn20140130-1.1_amd64.deb . sudo mv usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/* /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/
Removing previous version libraries: (May be necessary on future Lightworks updates)
sudo rm /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libportaudio.so.2 sudo rm /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libportaudio.so.2.0.0 sudo rm /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libportaudiocpp.so.0 sudo rm /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libportaudiocpp.so.0.0.12
